Kids Party Game Ideas
Party games are important to children’s parties. Children are easily bored and distracted, and parties are meant to be fun and memorable. Make a kids party more exciting by having a variety of games that cater to kids of all ages.
You can have three games and two crafts activities to fill a two-hour party. Finally, make sure you include games that are age-appropriate.
Here are some of the games you can try:
Prize Walk (Ages 2-4)
Tape the pieces of paper on the floor in a circle formation.
Have each child stand on a number and play music.
When the music stops, pick a number and give the child a prize.
Write challenges like trivia questions or physical challenges on pieces of paper and put one in each balloon before inflating.
Have children bop a balloon up in the air while playing music.
When the music stops, the last child to touch the balloon would have to pop it.

What to look for when hiring an entertainer
What to look for when hiring an entertainer
1. The most important is that your entertainer works well with children. A majority of our parties are held for children between the ages of 1-8 years of age. They have lots of energy & 1 must have a lot of patience with them.
2. Hiring a trained actor is best. They have the skills to master the character they are portraying better than say the person next door. They must learn to talk like the character, act like the character & know all the exact details about the character to be believable.
3. Entertainer must be punctual. Some clients will be hosting their parties at halls or venues where they only have the space for a specific time. If an entertainer is late & it’s past the time rented for the space it may result in a cancellation leaving children heart broken.
4. It’s best to hire entertainers who own their own cars or have access to 1. Many mascot costumes are bulky & difficult to carry via train or buses esp if the entertainer has more than 1 party booked. It also assured better timing.
5. Entertainers also must have facepainting or balloon animal making skills. This can easily be learned on YouTube. If they have younger siblings or babysit children it can be practiced on them. Also a plain white mask is a good accessory to practice on.
6. Also entertainers need to be on the more young fit side esp for Superheros & Princesses. The mascots can get away with being on the heavier older side. Clients will complain if the entertainers do not fit the standard of believability.
7. Entertainers must also have a lot of energy. Matching the children’s energy is a must. It gets the parents involved & everyone is having fun.

4 Important lessons you learn as a birthday party mascot
4 Important Lessons You Learn as a Birthday Party Mascot
by Cheryl Jacobs
Who would have thought that you could learn something from being a party mascot?
As a kid, there was a time when we wanted to go to amusement parks just to see our favorite cartoon character come to li fe. It’s the joy of every kid—I mean they get to meet their hero!
As an adult, when we think of mascots, we think of a human incubator. We’ve probably been to enough amusement parks or sport games, seeing mascots doing uninspired and unenthusiastic dance moves to a supposedly hot jam.
Often, these are the mediocre kind of mascots.
Being a mascot is not only about being sweaty or doing dances. It’s more than that. I've been working in this industry for quite a while, and I learned that as a mascot you are powerful. You’ve got the power to inspire, entertain, and resonate with the kids, their parents, and your customers.
After some time transforming myself and others into a child’s favorite cartoon, I learned 4 important lessons:
1. Preparation is Key
Some people thought that being in the mascot is enough. You’d be surprised that the number of things you need to prepare.
Being in a mascot, you will need to know…
- What’s the goal of you being there?
- What is your role in the event?
- Who are the audience?
- Have you thought all about the technicalities involved?

One tip: try your mascot about 2-3 hours before the event starts. That way you will be familiar with the limitations that come with it.
2. You Represent your Brand
You are more than just someone wearing a suit. It would be a major party killer if your mascot head falls off while you are trying to pick up a candy from the table.
This will be a great mood-killer that will impact the children for the rest of their life.
Be Bugs Bunny or Daffy Duck or the Hulk. You don’t need to reveal to the public that you are under the Bugs Bunny suit. Revealing your secret identity would destroy the mascot’s brand identity. No longer would you be Bugs Bunny the mascot, you will be John in the Bugs Bunny mascot.
3. Make one heck of an entrance
Make it grand—with the loud music, confetti showers, huge flags, backflips, etc. Everything about the mascot is huge: the head, the hands, the feet, and the body. So, what better way than to do a huge entrance with it?
Make your audience feel excited and giddy with you around.

4. Respect is required
If you haven’t tried before, then you should know that putting on a mascot suit will give you an extreme adrenaline rush that will make you feel like you are powerful. But remember, with great power comes with great responsibility.
It is important you treat everyone around you with respect. Your company’s brand identity depends on it.
Imagine the look of your customer’s face if you send them someone in a Superman costume who has publicly announced that he is a Batman fan. That would lead customers to frustration because their expectations were not met.
If customers want someone in a Spiderman costume, then they would expect someone to act up to the brand being represented.

How to clean a Mascot costume
How to clean a mascot costume?
by Cheryl Jacobs
Cleaning a mascot costume is important to avoid irritation to the skin of the next person to use it and to keep it ready for usage.
A good tip on cleaning mascot costumes is to ask for guidelines from your costume provider. Since a costume is an investment, it’s important to take care of it in a way that would help it last a long time.
To take care of your costume, designate an area where it would be hanged, stored, and dried. In this area, there should be fans for drying the costume, a 50/50 mix of water and mouthwash that’s amber in color (not in green or blue) in a spray bottle, and a repair kit.
Your repair kit, to be used for minor damages, should include the following: curved quilting needles, thread in a color that matches the costume, scissors, safety pins, contact cement for shoe soles and foam parts of the costume, hot glue gun, duct tape, and additional chinstraps.
After every appearance, dry or air out your mascot costume. Make sure to wash a costume between performers to avoid allergic reactions, foul odors, and transmission of disease. You don’t have to wash it between every use if the same performer will be wearing it, but pieces that get dirty the most like the hands and the jersey need to be washed more often.
Most costumes can be machine washed with detergent and cold water. The head and shoes part of the costume can be spot cleaned, although the head is hard to clean thoroughly. Paper mache or fiberglass heads need to be cleaned differently. One good tip is to spray 50/50 spray of water and vodka or water and mouthwash inside, wipe the excess liquid, and air it out to dry. If the head of the costume can be washed with water and detergent, you can submerge it in a bathtub and scrub delicate detergent on the fur.
Cleaning your mascot costume is a great way to maintain your investment and ensure an enjoyable experience every time.

When Shpuld you need a Mascot for your child’s party
When should you need a party mascot?
by Cheryl Jacobs
Party mascots can add fun to any party. Whether it’s a character mascot from a show your child likes or from the restaurant hosting their party, it can make your child’s birthday a lot more special. The question is, when should you need a party mascot?
Many party providers include mascots in their services. Some offer mascots as part of party packages as well. Party packages are very convenient for parents because you would get a host, the decorations, goodies, and the mascot in one. It would mean less effort and less worry on your part. The focus becomes making sure everyone is having fun.
Mascots are great for when your child has a specific favorite character or animal. Of course, it would also be appropriate if the child asked for it themselves. Some children are afraid of mascots, so that’s one reason you might decide against hiring one.
Another good reason to get a party mascot is that they can enhance the party experience by hosting games and activities as well, sometimes with the help of an assistant. As part of a party package, it would create a good flow for your party’s program and less worries on your end.
When deciding on getting a party mascot, remember to find a reliable party provider.
Enjoy your party and good luck!
