What to look for when hiring an entertainer 

1. The most important is that your entertainer works well with children. A majority of our parties are held for children between the ages of 1-8 years of age. They have lots of energy & 1 must have a lot of patience with them.

2. Hiring a trained actor is best. They have the skills to master the character they are portraying better than say the person next door. They must learn to talk like the character, act like the character & know all the exact details about the character to be believable.

3. Entertainer must be punctual. Some clients will be hosting their parties at halls or venues where they only have the space for a specific time. If an entertainer is late & it’s past the time rented for the space it may result in a cancellation leaving children heart broken.

4. It’s best to hire entertainers who own their own cars or have access to 1. Many mascot costumes are bulky & difficult to carry via train or buses esp if the entertainer has more than 1 party booked. It also assured better timing.

5. Entertainers also must have facepainting or balloon animal making skills. This can easily be learned on YouTube. If they have younger siblings or babysit children it can be practiced on them. Also a plain white mask is a good accessory to practice on.

6. Also entertainers need to be on the more young fit side esp for Superheros & Princesses. The mascots can get away with being on the heavier older side. Clients will complain if the entertainers do not fit the standard of believability.

7. Entertainers must also have a lot of energy. Matching the children’s energy is a must. It gets the parents involved & everyone is having fun.
