Empowered Speaker Seminar w/ Kids Party Characters owner Cheryl Jacobs
So Cheryl, thank you.
Hi, Amonda.
Hi.
Thank you so much for having me.
You're welcome. You're welcome. So tell us first about your business. You have two businesses.
Actual businesses.
So you have had how many businesses?
I have ran ten successful businesses in my lifetime.
Ten! Ten! And she's had struggles and challenges like all of us, so it's up to us how high we fly, or how low we go, and you choose to fly.
Yes. And I am a pilot, so ...
And she's a pilot. Perfect. So tell everybody about your two businesses now.
Hello, everybody. I'm Cheryl Jacobs, and my first business is kidspartycharacters.com. I actually was an actress for many years, and one of my agents asked me to play Cinderella at a children's party. I didn't even know, going into it, how to speak to children. I was just like, “Hey. How are you doing? What's up?” After six years later, I branded my company to franchise it, and when I came to AmondaRose, I was ... I want to present this to the world. How do I do it? I have no idea how to start.
So, she broke down my whole story. I was a teenage mother who lived in poverty. My struggle was to feed them. That was my struggle to survive. At the same time, my mother passed away, then my grandmother passed away, and so I used that to either ... She was like, bring that up. That's your story. Tell your story. People need to know where you came from. That if you can do it, they can do it, too. So, she made this beautiful speech about how to take your mother's words. My mother's words were to always stand on your own two feet. Never let anyone tell you that you can't do something. I took those words with me everywhere, and she helped me bring that out.
I was always an entrepreneur at heart, so I started my first company. I got picked up by a very big modeling agency, and that was my first business, starting a modeling agency, and here I am in my tenth business. My other business is eliteflightclub.org. I took my love of flying ... I'm a pilot, and I took my love of flying and made it into a private jet charter company. So now, she's helping me with my speech to ... As a female pilot, I was always told, girls are not supposed to do that. You know, girls aren't supposed to fly planes. They're not supposed to have businesses. So, she is now helping me with my speech to empower young women that you can too, fly an airplane. You can too, own your own business.
My very first speech she helped me was called, “Wonder woman needed a hero, so she became one.” It was all with my children's company. I remember I was doing my first speech and I lost my words in the middle, and I just started crying. Now, I'm trying not to cry again, but she helped me through that. She helped me to the point where I wasn't on stage, and I wasn't shaking, and I wasn't ... I was able to tell my story and to add value to people. Not everybody's going to be with you along the way. Not everybody's going to love you, like she said before, and you've just got to remember that the big picture is that you are adding value to people. It's not about you. It's about the people that you're helping, and the people that you're struggling with.
My kids company, with the franchise, I'm helping moms who are working hours upon hours, and they're not being able to spend time with their children, and living paycheck to paycheck. They can't even go on vacations. With my company, you could make six figures. Startup time is in four weeks.
So, she brought all that on me. She's like, that is your message. You have to empower these women. You have to empower the females that want to be pilots, and want to be entrepreneurs. So, I love you men, but it's more geared towards empowering women. I love this woman because without her, my message would not be out there.
Thank you so much.
Inspiring!
